124,000 miles in my 97Z before I sold the car with a stock opti. 93Z had 135,000 miles when I sold it and had the stocker. My current 96Z has the stocker in it and has 98,000 miles.

119,000 and still going strong. (Logs off computer, hops in car for a quick trip to town, out of nowhere car quits, leaving me stranded )

Forgot to mention that I have had 3 waterpumps to go bad and leak all over it. It would miss bad until it dried up and then run perfect!

Just over 90K. Rotor is fine but optical just went out. That was on four years of hard driving....went Delteq a year and a half ago so the optics were the only thing I had to worry about, and they finally went.

Replaced the orignal a couple months ago at 125k, it was working fine and looked good(for the mileage) when I took it apart. It was working fine but replaced it out of preventative maintanence. Ive had more problems with wires than anything. Currently using elite wires, everytime they get wet, it misfires and dies. Then I have to wait untill they dry before it starts again.

This may sound strange, but I "voluntarily" replaced mine at 160K. I have a habit of when something goes wrong, for example the front seals (when I replaced the opti), whatever I take off to get to what's wrong, I replace new when i put back on.....make sense?

I bought the car at 160K, so I'm not sure it was stock....so just for fun, mine lasted until "at least" 160K.

Re: stock opti and mileage.........everyone post

I've never had an opti fail...or a water pump for that matter, but I've replaced a few as mainatnce items to avoid failures.

Replaced the opti and wp on my '96 at around 105,000 miles, both were still working fine. Car has 138,000 on it now, and both are working fine.

Opti and wp were replaced on my wagon at about 150,000 miles, both were still working fine. Car has 268,000 miles on it now, and both are still working fine. I will probably pull that engine for some freshing up (resealing everything) this summer, and will replace the opti and wp again.

BTW - lest you think that my stuff lasts forever because my B-bodies are grandpa cars, and I drive like Gramps...my '96 doesn't shift out of first until 6200 rpm's, and 6100 on all the other gears...it see's those daily.

Just look at them as maintance items and replace them before they fail (like spark plugs)...I don't know what to tell you guys who only get 30-50,000 miles out of them...perhaps you're being punished for something. - JM.

Mine went out at about 90,000 miles I replaced it with one from NAPA and that one was defective and had to be replaced within about 500 miles. Then I replaced that one with one from AC Delco and I have about 35,000 miles on that one with no problems so far.
