Stock old push rods ok to use with new valve train?
Putting cam and heads in tomorrow.. The price was jacked up though because I needed to have my valve guides ported and liners put in.. sooo no more money for Comp push rods.. Will my stockers be ok? I will have the comp 986 springs and a 306 cam..
If your using a setup that uses guide plates, you will probably need to get a set of hardened pushrods. Some years came stock with hardened ones, but I'm not sure which. Do a search, I know its been debated here before.

To my belief this has been discussed before and it was said that the 95's were the last year for the hardened pushrods. I would take them all out clean them inspect them for warpage, bend.
Then clean them good.
Then clean them good.
You can get a set of hardened pushrods from www.cmotorsports.com really cheap. They are the ones I got with my cam kit
