Stock oil pump with aftermarket oil pan?
I've heard bad things about high volume oil pumps running pans dry and was curious if it was recommended to keep the stocker wtih a aftermarket pan (canton) or go HV?

I Think it's up to you. The pan should come with the extended pickup.

The problem with running a HV oil pump is with the stock pan. If you get a bigger pan you don't have to worry about it.

Cool, anyone else like to confirm this? Im building a 383 and trying to get all my info together so I can decide if i'll go stock pan or canton.

on my old 383, i used a high volume oil pump by moroso and a 7 quart deep oil pan by moroso

Any reason it was your "old" 383? Hopefully not because of the pump right?
