How much hp and torque can the stock Z28 crank stand before it goes snappy snappy. I would LOVE to buy a 4340 scat crank but until I manage that I would like to know how hard I can flog the stock crank.

550 at the fly i would guess

 

I ran 600HP at the flywheel on the stock crank for a couple of years with no problems. I upgraded it with the 4340 Scat later on.

 

Beautiful thats all the response I need on that one. What about the connecting rods? I am swapping the piston heads out when I get my block treated and 4boltmainsplayeded.

 

The rods are probably the stronger part of the engine. My friend did a rebuild on his 93 with a scat crank and forged pistons, but stuck with the stock rods due to there strength. The car has a 250 shot on top of heads/cam and has never had a problem.
