Still rich ?why?
Still rich ?why?
I got a tune done, from madz28.com and loved it but lately i have encounter a rich condition. MPG is only about 180-200 mile to a tank. Blackish grayish,(more black then gray)smoke at WOT. At the same time the car has developed a miss between 5500 and 6000 rpm, under WOT in every gear.
scanning the car i saw that everything was with in the corrected ranges But I did see that the RINT and LINT was about 124. Reading the programe of the scanner it said that anything above 128 was lean and everything below was rich. Now IM sorry if the RINT and LINT are not correct wordings, I cant remember the correct way. Sence i converted over to the delteq i had the car scanned with a DIS system. They said the bar graph displayed was also showing a rich condition and that the spark pattern was really inconsistane. So at this point i dont no where to start looking to fix the problem. Hopefully you can help.

Re: Still rich ?why?
Sounds like you're referring to your fuel trim. 124 sounds pretty normal, they go all the way from 0-255 w/ 128 being the "normal" position, since it's so close it doesn't sound like there's anything wrong. As far as your rich under wot condition, it must be tuning because it seems fairly normal the rest of the time. If you want your ignition system checked out, you'll have to take it to a shop (or somewhere with an ignition scope). An independent shop should be able to tell you quick if there's anything wrong, they're probably used to seeing issues with the countless GM V6s w/ coil packs that started in the 80s and are still around today.
