Hey guys,
I just changed out my 2-3 shift solenoid and my car still isnt wanting to shift into 3rd gear. I have a 94 z28 w/ a 4l60e tranny.
Any ideas on what else this could be?
1st and 2nd gear are fine, but as soon as the car starts to shift into 3rd it acts like it's in neutral, until I let off the throttle. If I drive the car with the gear selector in 2, my car does fine shifting into 1st and 2nd. But if I am in d or OD it wont shift into 3rd. Any replies would be greatly appreciated.
If I need a complete rebuild, how much would I expect to pay?

Holy ****!! Someone else who has bizarre tranny problems!!! I feel ya brother. Now, does this do it only when going into 3rd?? I had a problem similar to this, but it would do it in every gear. It would pull fine (at WOT) until it went to go to shift then it would slip out of gear until I let off. Well, turned out that I had a cracked piston in the tranny, and at high rpms, with lots of pressure, the piston wasn't holdin that pressure and it was coming out of gear or something like that. Now, if its that, then you need a rebuild, but if it is doing like my car is now, then i cant help you. My tranny now, shifts from 1-2 just fine, but it gets stuck in 2nd and wont shift to 3rd. Let off and it goes into a neutral mode (free wheeling). Rev it up a few times, and it shifts. But now I cant drive it because the revving up technique doesnt work no more and it wont shift out of 2nd. I can race 0-60, but after that it sucks. Hope this helps.

hey sweet red 95 ta your car shifting prob are do to the 3600 stall i have a 3000 and mine messes up also to work properley we cant go over 2800 but i am saying screw this 4l60e crap mine will be out in a few months and i also spent 3,000 on this pos to get it rebuilt and stall labor shift kit i'll sell it to someone who likes these
