Still no start
Still no start
A few days ago my z28 would not start or turn over. So i bought a new battery and just replaced the starter. Still the engine will not turn over. When i try to start it up the starter just clicks hard. Is there a fuse or a relay or something i over looked? Did my worse fears come true that the engine locked up?
I tried to turn the engine with a wrench and it turned a tad bit. i couldnt get a full rotation though. i have no idea whats goin on anymore. the car never ran hot and there was normal oil pressure. the day before it was running strong as hell while i was messing with 5.0s. so whats the problem?

Are your cables all clean and tight, including grounds? Did you reinstall the starter wires correctly? If your battery is good and your starter, relay, and solenoids are good, and your starter was installed correctly including, not binding, and your wires are on correctly and your flywheel gears are not chewed up, the power from the battery should turn your engine even if it won't start.
Again, check to make sure the smaller crap is working off the battery, e.g. headlights, etc., even though there might not be enough juice being sent to the solenoid. If your starter will not turn the engine and you can't turn the engine over with a wrench, with a couple of plugs pulled to relieve some compression, then maybe your engine is siezed from over heating or someother cause, but before you start tearing things apart, make sure it is not your starter, battery, or connections. The pos+ side of the battery probably goes to the relay, and then onto the starter. Try jumping the relay to make sure the juice is getting to the solenoid and starter. Look at Sh.box.com to ensure that you have the starter wires on correctly. And....if your are messing with the starter while under the car make sure you don't run over yourself.

Also make sure it is not in the ignition system or your neutral safety switch. If you have an M-6 and must depress the clutch to start so I believe the switch in somewhere behind the clutch. Dunno. Someone else may be able to help you regarding fuses and ignition problems, but if you are gettinf a click everytime to turn the key, then apparently you are not getting enough juice through the solenoid to turn the starter or the starter can't turn the flywheel becausef the engine is boogered.
Never mind, I see you have an A4. If you can't start it with a jump, just to make sure it isn't the battery for sure, then you'd better get the sucker into a shop for diagnosis.
