Still confused about Royal Purple in M6
Still confused about Royal Purple in M6
Ok, first off, I've already bought the stuff. So, I don't need suggestions for tranny fluid. I've tried searching, but have yet to find a "this is exactly the Royal Purple product you put in your tranny" answer.
I'm a little confused, here's my deal. Got in on a discount for some RP products. Got myself from tranny fluid pretty cheap. It came in yesterday and it's the SyncroMax product from RP. It's shaped like a gear oil bottle which triggered my concern. RP's website states this product to be formulated for manual transmission where automatic transmission fluid is required.
NOW...just below that product is RP's Max ATF which says for GM Dextron III applications.
OK. Well, I've got an M6, it needs Auto Fluid...but the badge on the side of the tranny says Dextron II...see what I mean?
Any help?

Well, after I got that info from you.
Here is a reply from Royal Purple:
I guess I'll go with what I got.
Here is a reply from Royal Purple:
You need to use the Synchromax. Your transmission is one that we did our testing on. You will notice a big improvement in the shift quality over the ATF fluid that you have in it now.
