Still Burning Coolant

Just got everything back together after blowing a head gasket. Started it up, runs really good, but started seeing white exhaust out tailpipe that is definitely coolant that gets worse as the car runs.

Could there be remaining coolant in the exhaust pipes from the blown head gasket that needs to burn off? Anyone had this happen?

I think your head(s) is cracked. Seen it before. A few minutes would have burned off any remaining water. If it gets worse as the engine heats up, it's a crack. Could even be the block but I'd check the heads. Did you have the heads checked for warping before you reassembled it? That could also be a likely choice. Either way the heads got to come off.

I had the heads compression checked, and milled for any warpage when I had them off before. So they SHOULD be okay.

You say all water burn off after a few minutes, I had the car running for only about 20-30 seconds then I shut the car off when I saw the smoke. Maybe I should let it run 5 min or so?

20-30 seconds could have been coolant in the exhaust pipes etc. I would have let the car run for at least a few minutes. Did you put sealant on the head bolts?

Thanks. I got the felpro head bolts that had white sealant on the bolts. The directions said "IF" the bolts have sealant on them you don't need any. I assume what was on there was sealant.

Thanks, I hope you're right, I am sweating it!! I'll run it tonight for a while and see what happens.
