Steering wheel shaky when stopping!

Im pretty sure my rotors is the problem here. Although the front brake pads arent squeeling, I think the rotors may be warped. I only get shakes from the steering wheel sometimes and when I do its not that bad. I have heard you can get the rotors turned or cut whatever you wanna call it. But I heard they dont last as long when you do this. Anyone have any info or suggestions on this or should I buy new rotors?

Also have any of you guys gotten rotors from autozone or advanced auto and how are they?

If you still have the OEM rotors, you should be able to have them turned down once with no problems. Stay away from cheapie rotors, you'll warp those in no time. Be sure to properly torque your wheels when you put them back on.

Sounds to me like you're right with your diagnosis. I had the same problem and put on new rotors and pads and that fixed it.

If my brake pads arent making noised then they should be ok, right? Can I put new rotors on and use the same brake pads?

Napa has a set of rotors for $30ea and then you can get the real expensive ones for $59 ea. Advanced Auto sells the cheaper ones that they say is a stock replacement item for $20 and then another one for $59. What do you guys think about these?

Yeah, you can just change the rotors, I had the money at the time, and mine were worn, so thats why I replaced the pads. Some people I know used the Napa rotors, and didn't like them because all they do is squeal, I haven't had any personal experiences with either Napa or Advanced, so I can't really help there.

It's best to replace the pads at the same time that you do the rotors.
The pads likely have uneven wear, that could cause you problems down the road. Now I'm not gonna lie, and say I have'nt done that in the past. But it's not recommended.
