Steering wheel radio button solution!

Thanks to all the great info about fixing the lights I have successfully put new ones in and they now work. My question is, does anyone have the part number for the red and white circuit board button that actually controls the operation of the stereo button? I have one that doesn't click anymore and I think it would be easier to solder a new one in rather than try and fix the broken one. I'll check at Radio Shack tomorrow but I don't even know what the right name is for the button. I hope someone has already done this.

Thanks

You will probably get better results asking this in the Car Audio Section of this forum.

Good Luck,

Radio Shack does not sell the Micro switches.

I'm actually in the process of doing this myself...

I have found a supplier of the switches, but need to get one of the proper dimensions to get it to work.

Found the switch!!

I found the switches. They're not classified as micro switches and that's why I couldn't find them. They're "tact switches" or "tactile switches". Once I searched for that term I found them. A company by the name of "ALPS" makes the exact one, 6mmX3mmX5mm. I ordered some from Mouser Electronics for $.48 each. The part number for Mouser is cross referenced to ALPS. Mouser # is: MJTP1250, ALPS # is: SKHLAKA010. ALPS sells in bulk and Mouser will sell individual. It should be as easy as changing the bulb in the radio control.
