Startup Problems
Startup Problems
I'm not getting any bites on my heater hose issue, so I'll go here next.
Intermittently, getting more frequent, I turn my key and all I get is a single click from under the hood. I try several times and get the same result. After much frustrating experimentation, I found that if I put the car in nuetral, it almost always fires right up. It's got a new coil, battery, alternator, positive bat cable, and less than 2 year old opti. I'm leaning toward a nuetral safety switch but my transmission buddy swears they rarely go bad and when they do, they are not intermittent. He thinks it's starter or starter solenoid. Would putting it in nuetral "fix" a starter/solenoid problem?

Re: Startup Problems
I had a similiar issue with my 92, especially when it was cold.
It turned out to be a bad starter.
How does battery voltage look?
Does your fuel pump spin up when you put the key in?
(Have you tried putting it in, letting the pump pressurize the line, then starting it?)
