finished the heads/ cam swap but when i started it the only way it would start is if i give it gas and it wont stay running without me giving it gas. any ideas why its acting up. i know the timing is good. i dont know what else could cause this.

 

anybody? i need some help please. im running low on ideas.

 

The first thing to do is make sure you did not leave anything unplugged or hoses off. Did you get a computer re-program? Maybe some more details about your setup would help.

 

ok, put in a cam and ported heads. i had my computer tuned by madz28. i had him delete the egr and air pump. i cant find any hoses that i may have missed.

 

LOL. It sounds like the all to common too tight lash (rocker arms) problem. Many of us have been there. Set the valve lash again.


Many here know and have heard the symptons many times especially after a cam install . Especially if its a first one. Car won't start or stay running unless you step on the pedal, and your throttle response is probably terrible.

Anyways, thats likely your problem.

Try resetting the IAC.
