starting problem

Back in Dec I took my camaro out for a spin....I drove it across town no problem even though it hadnt been driven in over a month. But when I went to start it again, nothing. At first I thought the battery was dead, but when I boosted it, nothing. When I turn the key, nothing happens, it doesnt turn over, no noise, nothing. At first I thought maybe the safety switch in the clutch, when I turn the key over with the switch pressed down, it makes a clicking under the dash on the passenger side, but thats it. I am not the most mechanically inclined when it comes to this stuff, any ideas as to what it could be, starter, ignition coil, safety switch?
