starter wiring

Just getting ready to fire up the motor after being apart for 1 1/2 years. I have a question about the starter wiring, since I forgot to label it. There is a small black with a white stripe wire that I assumed gets hooked to the solenoid with with the purple wire? Is that right? I/m not finding the black&white wire on any schematics that i have found Thanks!

no sir... that black with white wire is a GROUND.

There is a nut [2 in my pants]... on the back of the motor mount bracket. ground it to that.

purple is the small nut on the starter [solenoid]
red 12v is the larger nut on the starter

Yea I made the mistake thinking that ground wire went on the starter too long time ago. Ended up almost burning out that wire. Shoebox has some great links though as posted above, place the wires where they are in his pictures.
