Starter removal gone bad

So, last night I was trying to remove my starter on my 94 z28 camaro but the bolt on one of the contacts on the solenoid was rust and busted off. The solenoid is a delco remy and im wondering if its worth replacing the solenoid or just purchasing a new starter. If i should replace the solenoid, im having a little bit of a hard time find the right replacement. Any help would be awesome.

Re: Starter removal gone bad

I just checked RockAuto for the heck of it, and they have the Starters with the Solenoid attached from $64 to $288, plus shipping. AutoZone, $148 to $190. I'm sure there are many other places also.

Looks like as you have found out that purchasing just the solenoid is a bit more difficult.

I am not recommending this, but thought I would put it out there in case you want to consider it. Walmart website actually shows that they have Solenoids for your Starter for $23.83. They have restrictions depending on the # on your Starter Solenoid that you would have to verify. Make sure you read the READ ABOUT THIS ITEM portion that is posted for the Solenoid.
