Starter 1993 LT1

Hi guy's. This has probably been talked about be fore but We need to replace the starter in our 1993 Z28 with LT1. Can this be done without removing the factory Y pipe?

Yes it can be done. Do you have an auto or stick? Stick cars have it easier than auto guys because the cooler lines are not in the way.

Re: Starter 1993 LT1

I changed mine out on my '96 auto last year by just removing the converter cover and finessing it past the trans cooler lines. Wasn't as bad as I expected it to be.

Oh, my son is really into turbos so we may examine that possibility also, so any and all info you have would be appreciated.

Go read all about adding a turbo to a stock LT1 engine to your heart''s desire in the forced induction section.

Got the starter in, no problem. Just simply pushed the AT lines over a bit and she came right out/back in. Thanks guys.
