Started car w/out valve covers, oil coming up out of only 3 rockers?
Started car w/out valve covers, oil coming up out of only 3 rockers?
So long story short - had a valve noise problem, pulled covers and discovered 3 of my lifters were giving and not priming up - I could pusht hem down nearly 1/4" at the came base and were totally soft. I could in fact thread the rocker arm nut by hand untilt he lifter was 100% collapsed. So i replaced the three. When i started the car today it was making a fairly loud clicking sound. So i pulled hte valve covers, found 2 rockers that seemed a BIT loose (ie. they seemed liek they were JUST at zero lash..i readjusted them to 1/2 turn past just for testing). I started the car then with the valve covers off. Still getting the clicking sound. This is what i don't understand: The rocker arms where i just replaced 3 lifters yesterday are all gushing up a little stream of oil throught he top of the rocker arm. The other 13 rockers have no oil AT ALL bleeding up to through the nut. Shouldn't they all have some oil flowing out the top of them? I've got about 350 miles on the engine since my rebuild.

You should get atleast similar oil from all 16. You might want to look a little further for the cause. What manufactuerers lifters are you using?
