stall questions

stall questions

ok i want to install a stall on my 93 z28, i searched but i cant find anything on having it installed... money is a big issue with me and i know what they do and how they work but thats about it, how much do u guys think would b a good price on having one installed, the transmition has to come out right? lol sorry if thats a stupid question, if not how hard is it to do yourself?

Yes, the transmission must come out, it should take about an hour if you have a lift and a transmission jack. The upper bolts for the transmission are tough to reach without a very long extension.

I cant say what a shop would charge, but you may be able to find someone local to give you a hand.....where are you located?

rockland county NY... idk if id get a shop to do it, lots of rich people live around hear and they like to charge a **** load of money... too bad im not rich lol is it possible to do on jackstands? if i didnt have to take out the transmition i would do it in my driveway but since u do i dont know if its a good idea to do now as is f**** cold out... oh well thanks... mabe ill just do the long tubes instead now and wait till the spring

Go for it. You got any buddies who have a pretty good amount of automotive knowlege? I found a write up for you that goes over the whole process, its from anther board member, and I have had buddies use this and they got through the install without a problem.

I would however find at least a garage with a space heater (dont put it too close to your paint job thought).

yea i can pretty much do anything on my car myself.... that is except the transmition, if i had step by step instructions (haynes manual dosnt say anything about transmitions, or much else for that matter) and a place to do it it wouldnt be a problem for me, thanks for the link blacklt1 tx, ill check it out now, btw sick paint job, was that ur first one? i tryed to paint a car once, lets just say it didnt work out too good lol
