Angry SS air box wont fit..

THIS IS MAKING ME SOOO MAD... The air box will not fit.. The whole setups just wants to twist.. The rubber elbow looks like it needs to be shorter. If I line up the air box with the two holes on the manifold and look at where the end of the air box ends up, it looks like it wants to go into the elbow, If i take the MAF off it will fit fine, with it on its impossible... What the heck??

EDIT:::: I GOT IT TO FIT.. NOW IT WONT SEAL!!!!!! The foam things that are supposed to line the air box are not touching the air box when the hood is closed.. SOME ONE HELP!!!!

i know what your talking about when it comes to lining up the air box. I would tighten mine down and a week later it would have moved back and not be straight. It looks like the stock rubber elbow is to long. I asked my friend who has a real SS and he has the same problem.

I thought it was just my luck... Any way its on.. I found something that may solve your problems, I bought 2 High heat rubber spacers and put them under the airbox between the mainifold and air box, it raised it up and it seems to fit alot better. I cant get the foam stuff to seal the air box though, I left a peice of tape on its back on the air box and closed the hood and it was still laying on the airbox when i opened the hood. I need a picture of how the insulation is supposed to look if anyof you guys have one. I also snapped my torque arm, lol.. If fixed now and Feels 10x better than when i bought it, i guess it was going from the start.. Also the dumb a$$ people at the body shop put green coolant in my car!!!!!!!! Im Gonna whip there ***!!!!!!!! Now i have to flush it out! and my horns dont work.. lots of problems, I should be ok by tomorrow night, everything should be fixed. Also maybe you guys could help me, My hood is an RK sport SS hood(fiberglass) it doesnt feel like its closing all the way when i shut it, do i need special hood shock things? Also is the BACK of the hood near the scoop supposed to be like about 1/8 of a milameter away from the plastic windsheild/wiper thing? Mine is pretty much touching it.. If its not supposed to touch it, how do I raise the back of it up???

To begin with: My SS box is a bit tilted (i.e. not completely square, but that's how they drilled the damn holes, so I live with it.

In order to see how the seals fit:

Remove airbox lid and clamps
Put 3-m double sideed tape on top of lid
Put lid back on box (backwards) i.e, whe clamp side toward the windshield (w/o clamps).
Carefully close hood and reopen to see where the lid sticks to the underside of the hood.

You may have to adjust the seals if the lid doesn't line up with the seals.

It's a delecate process to remove and reattach the seals because the glue is pretty sticky.JMHO
