SS air box fitment issue's!

I picked up an SS air box for my car from a fellow board member and the it looks and mesures allright but the AIR pump fittings on my headrs are blocking the tube from sitting properly so I can't get it to fit under the hood, any one else have this problem?? and if so is there any way to fix it? I thought of removing the fittings but can't find a bolt big enough to close the hole on the Mac's,
and my car is a 94 were the 96-97's different?

Thanks for the help.

Gary.

I'm going through this myself right now. Did some GM part number surfing and it seems the 96-97 cars did have different air lines. I'm sure you noticed an interference problem with the air feed line on the front of the engine as well. For the later cars they are all different part numbers. Right now I have a plug in my left manifold and the feed line capped. But when I do my head/cam swap I'm having a friend modify my lines so it will all work right.

I'm in the middle of painting my car and wasn't really worried about the SES light, but I can't see why the light would come on.

I just scrounged the garage and found a plug that fit.

Rotate the fitting 180 degrees so it points the other direction. I believe ASCD made a SS cold air box kit and a guy I know bought one and it didn't fit right so he asked me to call ASCD, since I have an LT1 SS, and I told the guy at ASCD, about how my fitting was made, but he was on top of his game. He knew and told the guy to rotate this fitting the other direction and it should fit. Did it work? Don't know, he traded the car for an LS1 Car. Wierd.

Hope this helps.

Take a BFH and hit the air line out of the way. It's soft metal, and will bend.
