"square" or "flat" o2 sensor connections on 97????????

Summit sells casper electronics 02 sensor extensions in 95-96 f car and 97-02? My buddy just got them in and they are square? The 02 sensors we have laying around have flat connections. The car is currently in storage so we cant look at the car.

So what kind of connection for the FRONT o2's on a 97 SS?

THANKS!!

Thanks AsianSensation

Can anybody second this? Because if so summit has them in their book wrong and has had them that way for a long time.

My freind says the best he can remember there were some square connections down near the k-member but he only remembers seeing one flat style one. (motor has been out of the car) However the o2 sensores we have in ziploc bags do have flat style connections. So wtf are those square LS1 style connectors in the harness for just hanging there? Does anything else use the square style connector on a 97?

On my 97 the FRONT o2's are FLAT, and the REAR o2's were Square.... I have since then had the rear deleted out of the pcm...

That's correct. Ditto here, back ones are deleted from the PCM.

Ok it makes sense then....

GM must have been in the process of changing over or something. 96-97 gets flat front o2's and square rear o2's, and 98+ gets all square. What a clusterfu(k.

The responses here have always been quick and great thanks a million

AFAIK, all 96-97's have flat fronts and square rears. Never heard anyone say any different.

i hope you don't plan on runnin the o2 sims on the front, it won't work. that means your computer would be guessing at the afr and most likely not run right.

There will be no rear o2's on the car, they will be programmed out along with all the other emmissions components. We will be putting the front o2's back in. Unless we can program it well enough to run in open loop all the time

The confusion was when summit sent square o2 extensions to us instead of flat ones. It is misprinted in their book. Casper electronics o2 extensions for 97-02 cars is what we ordered. Its obviously wrong.

if ya can do a little soldering, I have the schematics for the o2 simulators, costs about $15 for the parts down at radio shack, I'm running the circuit on my 97 s-10, works fine.
