sputtering problem.

i got a 96' camaro z28 SS. its having some problems when it rains out.. it likes to sputter when i accelerate. any idea what it could be?

Sound like something is sensitive to moisture. Possible candidates are the distributor (Optispark), coil and plug and coil wires.

i second that, a good way to elimenate the wires is to get a spray bottle of water spray the wires down. Then put the car in drive and, while holding the brakes, give it some gas. If the sputtering occurs the wires are the culprit i believe this method should work with the other possible culprits, however, that i cannot guarantee. Good luck.

Unplug your MAF sensor and try that....Mine did the same thing. But I don't know if a 96 has MAF.

All 94-97 LT1's have an MAF sensor. 96 is vritually identical to your 97.
