Sputtering, Backfiring, and Falling on its FACE
Sputtering, Backfiring, and Falling on its FACE
94 lt1 z28 a4
i just rebuilt my lt1...put it in with long tubes a y pipe and a cutout almost at the rear axle...also a csi electric waterpump...everything is plugged in and running
i have one code from my left o2 censor reads low at like 450...but i dont believe that is the cause or anything of my backfiring and fallin on its own face...i take it out and punch it in first and it gives out just as it hits the redline at like 5100...it just stops...before it gets to 5100 it pulls hard and steady!!!
i have new opti wires and plugs...alternator is puttin out 14v at 1500 and at idle 12.8
and it is not knock retard we unplugged the knock censor and it stil does it
HELP!!!

Re: Sputtering, Backfiring, and Falling on its FACE
well i gotta tell ya dont under estimate the power of o2's
if you got coated headers your o2's are prolly trashed from excess coating and since one is throwing a code just spend the money and go get new o2's before your car starts running really rich and thins out your oil with gas and kills something
i speak from a bit of experiance and i didnt think it was the o2's either but i ended up with a lot of fuel in my oil
but even if its not the o2s it cant hurt to change em
