i went to punch it today, and i heard a lot of sputtering and felt it too.

any idea what this is???

EDIT: its like the exhaust is popping and the car responds when driving too the same way. happens when im driving normal speed, and wanna go faster like passs someone or the like.
and i do get a check engine light that pops on and off and random times, and i noticed is more prone to happen when i give the car some gas, but if i punch it...its pretty smooth

does the light come on and stay on or does it flash a few times, if it flashes its a misfire which may explain the pop in the exhaust
im not a100% but it could also be ur tps(throttle position sensor0 as well a many other things
ill let someone else take the stand since im really tired and cant think clear

 

the SES comes on, then goes away...then will come back again, then go away again...all at random times.

 

That happened to my dads camaro it turned out to be the MAP sensor

 

wow...no one really has an idea on what this is

 

check your plug wires. Make sure none came loose /are getting cooked if you were recently messing under the hood.
