Spring locators do I need them for CC987 valve springs?

Machinist has my heads and says I need spring locators and or cups to install these springs on my heads. Is this correct? Comps tech line says I dont need them and the only machining necessary is for the valve guide. Can anyone help me out? RKrause you around? anyone, anyone.....

Thanks,

Yes but you will either need to machine the seats or grind on the locators b/c they wont fit stock seats... OD is too large.

part number is 4771-16 and Thunder Racing is the only place I can find them.
