spraying C02?????

I saw some info on the internet about some guys spraying c02 into their throttle bodies and gaining power from it I was wondering if this really works has anyone ever tried it. personally I think it sounds like the nitrous version of electric superchargers.

Re: spraying C02?????

well i suppose it would cool the intake charge.....maybe a few HP there. Other than that, if you're thinking you'll get more oxygen into the engine, well maybe, but unless the PCM knows it has more oxygen to use & thus adds more fuel, I don't see how it can make you more power. Surely a MAF sensor can't tell the difference between gas ratios you're passing thru it, only the mass of the flow. If you're not flowing more, just displacing atmospheric ratio gases with altered ratio gases, I doubt the PCM would be able to schedule more fuel from that because I don't think the data would reflect it.
It's an interesting mental exercise tho. Anyone else got any thoughts on this?

How can spraying CO2 into your intake do anything other than shut off your motor.

CO2 is used in fire extinguishers to put out fires and I don’t see why it wont do the same to the combustion process.

This is probably the same cheese *** ricer crap I saw floating around the net about two months ago. You set the system up to spray a hugh cloud of CO2 into the car next to you stalling out or really slowing down the car. I'd have to beat some punk kids' ***, thinking it was cool to spray crap all over my car.

I agree I think I would have to break someone's knees for that, no tellin' how much damage that could do.

Re: spraying C02?????

CO2 will displace oxygen, and will simply turn off the motor in most cases.

Are you guys high??? Didn't you learn anything in science class? CO2 is not flamable, there is no oxygen in it. The only use I could see for it would be to spray it on an intercooler to increase the cooling effect.

100% correct. co2 is used to spray on the intercooler to give it a better cooling effect. But spraying it into the motor is just plain dumb

Let me guess, you sell this crap kit!! Where talking about engine induction, not intercoolers, whippits or putting out fires. Stay on target.

how does it not have any oxygen in it?
isn't that what the "O2" in CO2 stands for?

I agree. But if I remember correctly the C stands for carbon. If you burn a piece of wood whats left?I think some of it is carbon so I guess it won't burn.
NHRA just outlawed the use of CO2 to cool or freeze your intake. It will do that.

Re: spraying C02?????

that fact that someone would seriously think spraying c02 into an engine would help it makes me wanna puke. and i'd kill a ricer if he sprayed my car with a cloud of co2 to win a race. stupid ricers.
