Sprayed the LE2 setup >>>>

But unfortunately the track closed due to rain before I could make a full pass under the juice.

After I teched in I weighed the car to see what difference pulling my sub, front sway bar, swapping back to factory front brakes and swapping out 17x9 ZR1's w/ some 15x3.5 Weld Alumastar 2.0's did. It lost 100#'s ... Race weight this week was 3620#'s. And I ended up running on 28" ET Drags vs my normal 27" tall Hoosier QTP's.

First pass was N/A. The car bogged really bad off the line. Just a 1.86 60' . 1/4 ET and MPH was a 12.08@116mph. Didn't have time to play w/ the suspension any before I made my first N2O pass. Possibly the fact that I was racing on 110 octane didn't help either.

N2O pass I spun off the line, got out of it, rolled back in it ~ then the N2O hit again when I reached WOT. My front end came back up and supposedly the rear bumper came 2 inches from hitting the ground. The N2O was sputtering the entire length of the track and performance fell off @ the big end. I ended up running a 11.3@125mph. Missed a gear even... Pulled into the pits and my friends came and told me the news about the rear end nearly bottoming out. So along w/ bringing the air pressure in the tires down 2 psi, I stiffened the rear QA1's. Ended up being @ 9 on the driver's rear, 10 on the pass. rear. Checked on the sputtering issue and my WOT switch had rotated a little, so it was making intermittent contact w/ the throttle cable. Adjusted that so it would work correctly and headed back again. The track announcer came over the loud speaker saying the storm was close and they'd be shutting down the lanes. I managed to get way up in line - did my burnout, and was staging right as they flagged me and the guy I was racing off the track. The big end of the track was already getting hammered by rain so I never got in a single good and full N2O pass. Based on the 60' alone, I think the car's a given for some 10.7's or so. And even more w/ spraying the entire time

Gonna get my spohn torque arm put in sometime w/ in the next two weeks and have at it again on 4/1. Hopefully that will further aid in getting the power put down.

For now though, my car looks mean, and sounds mean ~ but doesn't really run too mean. Lambert, it's a sheep in Lion's clothing

you should be able to hit 10's easy. How much shot were you running?

116 and 125 MPH is moving pretty good. Most are happy with that but you definitely have more it it if the car bogged N/A and you backed out of it and missed a gear on spray.

Should be good for another 1-2 MPH N/A alot more on spray once all of the bugs are worked out.

Matt, I won't be selling the brakes. I like stopping way too much. Maybe later in the year I will though.

10's are a given. It's just ~ how deep? I was running about 170rwhp worth. So should give me another 15mph or so on top of what I run n/a. Low 130's on my next time out is what I'd guess.

Hey Lloyd, I'm just full of excuses . But on my next outing, 4/1, it'll run 11's N/A, and 10's on bottle. Just like it used too. 200#'s ago .

You only trapped 116 with the LE2? I trapped 115 with my tiney crane 210/224 bogging off the line so I would think you would be trapping around 120mph.

Re: Sprayed the LE2 setup >>>>

just curious, what kind of Nitrous kit are you running and have you dyno'd your car NA?

Is that on the stock torque arm? I'm curious to see how much difference that spohn makes for you. I put a Spohn on a couple months ago and haven't gone to the track yet but it made the car feel a lot more solid.

Are you running stock PM rods and did you put ARP bolts in them?

Nice times. 10's are very close

Vehicle weight, gearing, TUNING, etc, will play with top end speed.

116 MPH is pretty good for ANY heads and cam set up (some people with AFR's and don't see this MPH). Some cars will run 2-3 MP slower and some will run 2-3 MPH faster. Every car is sdiiefernt. Some hands on tuning at the track to tweak the A/F and timing will go along way here.

Speed,

Not everyone with a Crane 227 will see the MPH that you are running either. Most are in the 109-112 MPH range so your car is running very well on top end with that small cam.

Hopefully Shawn can get bog out of it and run some 11's at 117-118 MPH N/A and 128-130 MPH on spray.

All I took out was the spare/jack. No skinny's either, 245's up front and out back. And thats runnin at a 12.0 a/f so I know it still has some left in it. I did take the muffler off though, but I was trapping consisten 114.3's with it on, and with a better tune and 52mm throttle body I'm sure I could hit 115mph with it on all day long. And the scale said 3330 lbs but that seems light for a car that has all the options except T-tops so its probably heavier than that. It was a ballance scale, not a digital scale so I don't know how accurate it is.

That weight for me was empty. My race weight is 3530lbs if the scales are accurate which I dont think they are. The last time I was at the track my car weighted 3410lbs, but I did do a 6-spd conversion but everyone said the weight of the T56 and 4l60e is within a few pounds of eachother, so I don't think I lost 80lbs from that.
