spodering and accelerating problems

so i work at advance and we selll alot of lucas injector cleaner so i tried it and ever since then my car has been acting weird first back firing quiet a bit and then acting like it didnt wanna start like it was gonna die when it fire cranked over. soo thinkin my fuel filter could be clogged. i changed it out and took it around the block a few times and on the high way and it ran fine. but on the way home it was spodering and didnt want to accelerate it only does it from 1000 to 2500 rpms once it passes 2500 it acts normal. has anyone had any problems like this?> im not sure what it is... i changed my spark plugs and fuel filter to see it would help but no luck. any advice on what to do?

Re: spodering and accelerating problems

Check your fuel pressure. If it's staying consistent, then pull the fuel rails and look at the spray pattern of the injectors while someone cranks it over.

What I believe has happened is occurring a lot now is a film had developed inside the tank that the cleaner has now stripped off and sent it down the lines. Many people are experiencing a clogged sock. That will show up with a simple fuel pressure test.

Others show up with clogged injectors.

Cleaner is fine if you use it consistently. If for years it has not been used and then it is, many many times they are in for a bunch of trouble.
