speedo/odometer reading half, and lockout gone?!?

ok, i finally have time to deal with this problem that happened awhile back after my LT header install.

my speedo and odometer only report half of what im actually doing.
ie:

i drive 50mph, it says 25mph

i drive 100 miles, but my odometer only records 50 miles (actually thats kinda sweet haha j/k).

my reverse lockout is gone

this all happened at the same time...........so im hoping that its all related to one part.

my question..........does the reverse lockout connector, or solenoid have anything to do with the other two? is the speedo/odometer sensor run through the same connector as the reverse lockout?

if so, i could have damaged it when jacking the motor up.

Sounds to me like something may be shorted out. Look at the wires under the car going to the trans., see if anything looks piched, burnt, etc. Chances are it's something near your headers.

im sure it is..........but im trying to identify if its the reverse lockout connector, or something else that all those sensors run through.

the connector is cheap.........but the solenoid is expensive.

Check your fuses. All of them. I had the same problem with the reverse lockout. Turned out to be the ENG SEN fuse in the engine.

Dont know if this will help your speedo problem. Sounds like somthing to do with your PCM callibraton for your rear gears.

Sounds like you have an A4 program in a M6 car. Did you change the programming at the same time?

Have you noticed the prob. start right after they re-programmed it? If so, I'd say that's your prob. When I did the t-56 swap my speedometer was off, until I got an m6 computer.

The A4 speed sensor reluctor has 40 teeth I believe and the M6 has about 17... so if you have a M6 program in a A4 at 70MPH you speedo will be reading 70x17/40=30MPH. If you have a M6 and a A4 program you will be reading 164MPH!
