Spec Stage II + N2O + ET Streets - will it hold?

Hi there,

I've got a bolt on T/A, no major mods. However I'm sprayin a 100-shot, and want to hook with ET Streets.
I don't want to "over-clutch" my car since it's driven daily.

What do you think, will a Spec Stage II be sufficient for sprayin out of the hole? I don't "want" to get the $tage III....

Thanks!

With your M6, don't even think about it. M6 + LT1 with bolt on's + 100 shot = tranny

I thought these T-56's can hold up to 600-700 hp without blowing up!

Are you sure??

I wouldn't worry so much about the tranny. It should be able to handle it.

The rearend is where I would be concerned.
ET streets plus a spec clutch are going to put one heck of a load on the stock 10 bolt...add 100 shot to that and you might break it off of hard launch.

If you lauch it at a reasonable rpm and then spray it you should be ok. The initial shock off the line could be the end of you stock rear.

As for your star spec question, I have a stage 2 and it can handle around 450 to 500 rwhp. I SUGGEST!!! You get a new flywheel, DO NOT recut your OEM one. Aftarmarket clutch + Cut flywheel = bad. I got their lightweight flywheel also. Can REALY notice the diffrence when rpms are climing.

Yeah, I think Fastbird93 must have been thinking about the rearend. I will try to keep the rpm's down when launching, but I already see a broken 10 bolt in my mind...
NVetro, thanks for your suggestion!

Don't do it!!!!!!!! These crappy rear end's don't hold up for nuthin. A buddy of mine was running 13.4's in a 96 Z-28 M6 with all bolt on's, drag radials, No NO2 and BOOM!!!! tick, tick, tick, tick, tick...... If your runnin a M6 you should be pullin off the line pretty quick as it is. Don't hit the juice untill 2nd gear and you should be fine.

Good advice.

I wait until second gear spray as well, but with the 10 bolt, it is just a matter of time before it breaks at the 1/4 with the ET Streets anyway.

M6 + nitrous + traction = 10-bolt

If you want to spray out of the hole then i would rethink the et's because if you hook with the stock rear-end then goodbye rear.

Good glad to hear it that it is ONLY the rear end that will break. But anyways where is a good place to find built up t-56's or is it just better or more economical to just get the stocker rebuilt. Sorry for stealing your thread hungry. I wouldn't spray off the line. You can get good enough times without spraying off the line.

Nobody said that it is the ONLY thing that would break. These t56's are damned strong(but they can still break), the rear-end is just the weakest link.
