Spec stage II or III?
With the mods in the sig which one would you go with? The car is mostly a daily driver in the summer, and it sees the track a few times a month. Hopefully every weekend in the future. Im running Nitto DRs and someday plan on running ET streets at the track and maybe the 230/236cam with ported heads. Possibly play with nos in the future too. I've been told the II is good to 475HP and the III good to 650+hp. I can get the stage III for only $60 more then the II but how unstreetable will it be? Thanks

I had the Stage II Kevlar when I had just headers and it was real nice. It engaged like the stock one but it held stronger. Very nice in traffic. Now I have the Stage III Carbon and it's a LOT different. It chatterd real bad the first month, but that went away (except in reverse) and now it just grabs real fast. It's a pain in traffic, but I don't drive it much. It's like every green light is a launch ... gotta rev it up to 1800 and just let it out. It really jerks the car. But it's broken in real nice that if my Mom were in the car I could slip it if I wanted too. I just don't like to wear on it that much. If you install the kevlar disk you can swap the carbon one in later. That's what I did.
So im assuming that the carbon disk can hold more power? What about the ceramic? I think the stage II sounds like what I need but I dont want to have to be replacing it again within a couple years.

I talked to one of SPEC's tech guys last week and they no longer offer a Stage 3 Kevlar any more. Apparently they weren't happy with the holding power of it so they only sell the Stage 3 with carbon or ceramic now. I too was looking at a kevlar one myself but I guess I'll be getting a carbon now. Hey Mikey, how many miles did you put on your carbon clutch before it settled down?

didn't put the last one in to see if they finally got it right... Went w/ a stock clutch and it lasted twice as long w/ 3 time's the launches on et streets.. and had ton's better engagement.. SPEC"s remind me of a toggle switch.. On/off.. where as my Street Twin is All the bennie's of a stock clutch w/the holding power of a vice..
