Speakers in thedoors should be 5 1/4 and if you have the premium sound system the speakers behind the seats are 6 1/2. If you have the delco bose system from cars maqde prior to 95, there are no speakers behind the seats, but still have grills. although 6 1/2 inch speakers mount in here, with a pair of tin snips or a dremel you can cut away the surrounding sheet metal carefully to fit 6X9 s in there.

I looked it up on crutchfield and it listed 6 3/4" for door and rear speakers. I don't have the six speaker Bose system. Speakers this size are kind of hard to find locally.

I wasn't kidding! I've done up stereos in '93, '94, and '97 f-bodies and they were all 6 3/4".

You can find 6 3/4" speakers pretty easily actually. Any audio site online will have them, or, if you don't mind being raped, you could go to circuit city.

6 3/4"? Hmm.....never heard of that size. I put 6 1/2" Infinity in my front doors. Oh well as long as they fit.

Most 6 1/2 aftermarket speakers come with extra long mounting tabs to fit GM 6 3/4 holes.

Sorry, I didn't mean I looked 'em up 'cause I doubted you , I had looked 'em up a while back 'cause I'm gonna replace my stockers soon. You happen to have any tips on putting speakers in my '94?

I went to Worst Buy and some kid (who said he'd driven a V-12 prototype Camaro at GM proving grounds ) tried like heck to get me to buy the only "6 3/4" speakers they had. I didn't think they sounded all that good.

Anybody have any suggestions on speakers for replacing the stock ones? I'm not putting in any amps or subs, just have a Sony Xplod 54wx4 deck

I take offense....

They cut my checks.. lol

They are 6.5S (or 6.75" like mentioned above). I put the Fosgate Fanatic P's in my 'bird, the factory tweeter location was nice to work with, and the speakers them selves were over sized and fit perfect. I definatly reccomend an amp for components tho.

The MB Quart components are really the best speakers I've ever heard, bar none. Mine lasted about 4 years before I cooked them. But the only drawback (in your case) is you really do need to use an amp.

You could just buy a set of Sony or Rockford 6 3/4" speakers and swap out the factory ones if you're not looking to get carried away.

Cool

Pretty much every brand makes 6 3/4" co-axials and components. I have the Kicker K65.2...which is the 6 3/4 component set in the front, and the Kicker K65 Coaxials in the rear....they sound great, and they fit perfect. Add some Kicker 80 SS amps, and a Alpine CDA 7897, and you've got some clear music! I had the factory Bose Crap..I mean system in my car. The thing is, if you have Bose system, you have to run all new wires because the factory harness has 4 wires going to each individual factory crossover. You can't run the factory head unit with aftermarket speakers, and vise versa. If ur running components...spurge for the amp to power them...you'll be a lot happier. Why invest in new speakers if you're going to use the amp in the head unit...waste of ur money. Might as well go shopping at Wal-Mart for one of those "Car Stereo System" in a box setups...ya know...the ones where you add water and stir for instant distorted noise.

If you get the PAC or install edge piece, you can put a radio in to work the the rest of the Bose system. I added that piece and a Pioneer 6400, it sounded pretty damn good.
