Sparks!!

So I was changing the #2 plug today, and I angled the wrench a certain way and BOOM, sparks flew all over the place. I know, should of disconnected the battery, my bad. The sparks actually gouged the wrench. What would of caused this around the #2 plug? Do I have a bare none plug wire around there (sensor wire? accessory wire?) All the plug wires look fine. I couldn't see any other kind of wiring other than the plug wires..... Thanks.

Alternator or starter cable, depending on where you were swinging your wrench. I'm sure you jumped out of your skin!

So since the wires sparked does that mean they are ok, or are they bare and need to be replaced? Thanks.

Depends on where and what you hit. The connection on the back of the alt should have a rubber boot to keep it insulated from this kind of thing. The only other place I can think you might have hit is the stud on the starter. It has no protection. If you have a wire bared somewhere, you should find it, check for damage, replace or tape it up.
