It does not matter what a plug comes gapped at, you always check it before installation.

I can see where .035 would work ok with highly volitile juice, but seems that with a weaker, shorter spark that with boost you risk blowing the damn thing out before a complete lite off, which might compromise your power numbers and MPG. Then again...

.035 here. .050 per GM is for emission reasons.

yeah, ls1s are gapped at .060 i had em at ..035 and Iwent to .060, made quite a bit of difference. I wouldnt recommend gappin that big unless you have ltcc. If your cars stock go.050 and run premium

someone fill me in on this gap science. im taking a break doing my LT1 tune up. #2 is gettin to me.

i have acdelco platinums. for some reason ive been gapping them to .045 and throwing em in. is there a benefit to gapping them tighter or will it hurt?

If you're not running serious power adders like nitrous or a supercharger, there's no need to reduce the gap. The power adders can blow the spark out, that's why the gap is reduced and ignition "boosters" are used.

I've come across a few people who gap their plugs tighter because they have a good number of miles on their ignition system. Is their any truth to that?
