SPark plugs platinum ripoff?

Yet another ? from me, doing my headers and cam install replacing plugs and wires. Went to get stock plugs, AC906. Well he gave me ac906 platinum, I thought there were 6$ for 8 but it was six a piece, total of $50. I said what the hell and bought them, since the plugs are such a pain on this car. Here is the ?, are these plugs any better, I doubt in performance, but how about durability? Should I take these plugs back and get the $1 plugs?

Also what is the spark gap setting?

thanks!

Tim

Platinum plugs are designed for duriability, not performance. This is how GM can obtain 100K miles between plug changes. Typical copper plugs only last about 30K miles on a nearly stock car. I tried a set of Bosch platinum plugs ($2 each) back when my car was stock and it ran like crap; I switched them out the next day for the AC Delcos and the car ran fine. Stock gap is .050"

The stock plug is what you got (906's) and they are platinum.
