Take off your alternator first thing, and then jack the car up. If you cant reach a plug from up top then go underneath. the one farthest to the front on the passenger side (under the alternator) is gotten from the top, with hooker headers im not sure which other ones need to be from the top or which on the bottom.

Buy Advil

All it is REALLY is patience. It sometimes takes a bit long and tears up your hands, but just be careful and take your time. Try not to get frustrated, and it should take only about an hour or two.

I have jethots but I think they are pretty close to hookers. I do 1-3 from the bottom, I take out the starter/dipstick and do 6-8 from the bottom, then 2-4 from the top, and 5-7 from the top. I can do it pretty quick now that I have practice, but if its your first time it will probably take a few hours. And if you don't have them I would get OVC wires.

Seeing that you have longtubes, that makes the job right there a heck of alot easier. Imagine doing that job on a stock manifolds car, it would be 10x harder. It can probably end up being a couple hour job.
