Spark Plug Wires

Currently my car misfires, most noticeably at idle. I was told that the problem is my spark plug wires arcing, so I'm looking into buying a new set of plug wires. I was wondering if THESE 9MM OTVC (I'm already set up for otvc) wires would be a good buy. I want something that will perform nicely and last me for a while. I'd probably get the heat shielded wires.

Anybody have these? Any opinions? I'd like some feedback from those who have experienced these wires before I drop $100 on them.

Steve

Re: Spark Plug Wires

I have ordered a set of there 8mm wires 3/31/06 and they havent shipped yet! I hear they make a great wire but they are way behind on there orders, seems to be a common problem with elite.

Re: Spark Plug Wires

I think Elite makes a very good product. However, when some people have been waiting for two months or longer for a set of wires, it makes me nervous to order from them again.

Re: Spark Plug Wires

Thanks for the replies!

I sent a message to Elite Spark Plugs asking about how long it would take to receive a set... no response yet, but I'll give it a few days. I'd like to have them ASAP... it's been nice weather here in Indy lately and the track is calling my name!!! I just need to take care of my misfire first.

Anybody else have any input on the EliteSparkPlugs.com OTVC pre-cut wires? Any issues with incorrect length?

Re: Spark Plug Wires

My set were perfect as far as length was concerned, and I got a set like in a couple days, but it seems a few people are on a serious backorder

Re: Spark Plug Wires

There were no length issues for mine either. They fit around my long tubes and everthing else perfectly.

Re: Spark Plug Wires

I installed the elites (with the heat shields)when I did LTs, they worked for a while, but now(about 10k later) they missfire a bit. Then one day it rained when I was driving home from work. And the car started to missfire realy bad and died at an intersection. I pushed it to the side of the road, cranked it but would juset backfire. After it sat for about an hour it fired up again. Ran like crap but ran, it was night time, so I looked under the hood and could see the wires arcing between each other. Im gonna give the Taylors a try now.

Do not buy from elitesparkplugs.com. I had the worst online buying experience ever with them, and I generally buy everything online (so I've bought a whole bunch of stuff online).

Get the Taylor OTVC set from thunderracing.

So the Taylor OTVC set is already pre-cut then? If so, then that is definitely what I will go with in the future. I have never had any problems with Taylor wires in the past.

Re: Spark Plug Wires

They ones I bought were not pre-cut. I had never cut wires and put ends on them before, but it's actually pretty easy.

They may have come out with some pre-cut wires by now, but if not I wouldn't be scared off by having to cut them myself.

Re: Spark Plug Wires

I got some taylors before, stock location, and they acred to my ac lines, headers, all over the place brand new. Have you looked at your wires in the dark FastZ? I am just curious, cuz the ones I got sucked. I know they were not OTVC, but still the spiro design. If infact they are good, I may just get those, but I really want magnecors, but I can't find anyone to do it for me! Plus, I need lengths...

Re: Spark Plug Wires

I didn't have any arcing problems, but the Taylor wires did, in my opinion fail prematurely. With that said I got about 2 years out of them.

Re: Spark Plug Wires

Will the OTVC wires work with stock exhaust or will there be any problems. Does the OTVC help or is it more of just a looks type mod?

The OTVC setup will not work well with the stock manifolds, they are intended for use on long tube header setups.
