Source for Lt1 parts?

I've been given the task to rebuild the motor in my sisters 95 Z28. She ran it out of coolant on a recent road trip and it has definite issues like burning coolant and oil. I'm trying to keep this under 1k. Machine shop qouted me about $700 if all the hard parts are good. I'll be doing all the assembly work with a friend of mine to help save cash.

I'm going to spring for a new cam, perhaps a CC305. Car already has headers.

I'll need a master gasket set, oil pump and prolly some other misc. things I haven't thought of. This isnt' my fist motor, but it is my first LT1. Anyone have a good source for these parts? I read that the gaskets are uber expensive.

Any tips, tricks, etc will be greatly appreciated!

You could try some of the supporting vendors as well. They sell gasket sets, oil pumps, ect.
