Sounds great... runs like @#$%

Need to get some opinions from you guys. I recently rebuilt my 95 lt1 and have not been able to get any power of it. The DA is about 5000ft on any given day here so take that in mind but its not a good enough excuse for this. Before the rebuild the best the car ever ran was 14.2 @98mph on street tires with 3.42 gears(A4 car) and shorty headers, cold air. Here is the mod list after the rebuild. Fresh bottom end, crank ground on the low end for clearence. Le1 heads, 230-236 cam, harland sharp 1.5 rollers, crane lifters, 30lbh svo injectors, cold air, 1 5/8 shorty headers, 3in exhaust all the way back to a 3 1/2in spintech. Hyfire ignition, good wires, coil and such. 255 walbro pump. PCM tuned by Ion and have been doing tunning myself with tunercat. I can get more specific if asked. I have access to a wideband and at wot it stays between 12.7 and 13.0. no knock retard. This thing should make good power i would think but the best it has run is 13.80 @ 102. And last friday the best mph i could get out of it was 98 The car has a 3620 race weight with me in it. Any thoughts what could be eating the power. Holds good vacuum at idle. This thing is killing me

i know. right now the only thing that will get it into the 12's is the spray. Im really leaning towards the cam not being ground right. should have went with one of Lloyds cams. Guess i will if all else fails.

your mph in the quarter is low but out of curiousity what tires were you using and what was your 60 foot time?

are your rockers loud? could they use a re lashing? on the other hand they may be too tight and be hanging the valves open which would be a good thing to check because that would murder power especially on the big end.

what kind of health is your auto tranny in? it could be slipping in 3rd and that could also hurt performance in the 1/4.

just throwin ideas out there for you.

Good luck.

Re: Sounds great... runs like @#$%

crappy street tires. i was pulling 2.2 average sixties. Not worried so much about the et but the mph . i was pulling 82-83mph in the 1/8 when i was trapping 102. and last friday i was pulling 79mph in the 1/8 and 98 in the 1/4. Tranny looks good every time i service it but i havent noticed any real slippage that i can tell. On one run it didnt want to shift into 3rd but im pretty sure it hit the rev limiter right as it was about to shift. (i was messing with the hyfire and forgot to change it back that day) other than that seems fine. Not going to rule it out though. Valves are set at 1/8 past zero lash. tried 1/16 but it seemed a little noisier than i would like. Thanks keep it coming
