the past couple of weeks my car has been doing a slow crank before actually firing up. The slow cranking wouldn't be as slow on cold starts. Yesterday it took forever to crank but I was carefull to not turn it to much because I didn't want to fry the starter any more then it already may have been. When I would try to crank it, it seemed to draw a lot of power from everything else(gauges and radio would almost shut off) before starting...Like it needed a lot more power from the battery to turn faster. Now I get nothing but a single click when I try to start it, but all accessories and lights are staying on. New battery and new 140amp alternator. You think my starter is fried??

 

I would first check the battery cables the cables going to the started.

I am pretty sure most auto parts stores will test the started for free (has to be off the car)

 

also try a jump start first too, maybe you just left a light on or something

mine was just replaced because it was cranking slow and draining the **** out of my battery. mine also acted like the battery needed more juice. New one installed, cranks fine now.
