something vibrating after new exuast
well I bolted up my new 3 inch american thunder flowmaster and now I notice this annoying noise at idle and sometimes around 2000-2500 rpm. The pipe going over the axle looked close to the heat shield. Is that possible it? If it is how do i fix this?
That's probably what it is, the i-pipe is hitting the shield just as it goes over the rear axle. I had the same thing happen to me. To fix it, I had the exhaust shop cut a small portion off the end of my i-pipe and shift the entire catback forward (toward the front of the car), that gave it some more clearance. That may not be the exact same problem you're having though, take a look under the car and see if you can figure out where it's hitting, then decide what needs to be done to fix it.
i had the same problem, especially when cold. had it on a lift one day and i mentioned it to a guy, he took a long-*** poll and shoved it between the pipes and the heat shield and used brute force to force them apart. havn't had a single problem since.
