Someone school me on ODB- I/ODB II
What exactly is this? Someone told me if i have a 96-97 camaro its a odb I car and doesnt get emission testing. Im completely lost someone please teach me
Ummmm...No.
OBD2 simply has a lot more parameters for checking the integrity of the cars emissions. As far as inspecting the car...every state is different , I dont know how strict they are where you live. If you perform mods that trigger an SES light, this will not be acceptable when you get your car inspected. They plug into your cars computer port and will know what is not functioning properly. OBD1 is less sensitive when it comes to mods that affect the car's emissions equipment. Hope this helps.
