Somebody help me :o(
Yesterday I installed a throttle body bypass kit in my 96' Formula. At the same time I took off that donkey d!ck thing & capped up the elbow. When I test drove my car it ran like total ****. It idled at 1,500 rpms & it did'nt want to shift into second until 3k rpms (and I barely had my foot on the gas). So I took off the kit & then it drove fine. Well today I'm driving down the road accelerating normaly & it did'nt want to shift into 3rd gear. I was going almost 45 mph at about 3k rpms & then it finally shifted! It's also idling very high again. Could deleting the donkey donk have anything to do with this? Should I put it back on? My car never did this before, until yesterday when I installed the kit & took off the donk. Please help someone!

Looks like you hit something or knocked something out of whack when you did this, or either you've got one heck of a coincidence. Did you unplug your MAF? TPS? Is air getting in somewhere via a loose clamp?

I'm surprised you guys have'nt heard of that. The kit bypasses the radiator fluid so it doesnt go through the throttle body. It's supposed to give like 6 hp but I think it's b/s. Do u think it could have anything to do with taking the donkey dong off? Maybe I did'nt seal up the bottem of the elbow good enough. I'm gonna go check things out & make sure I put everything back in place correctly.

Yeah, check all your stuff. Make sure you didn't bash the TPS on the side of the throttle body as well.

What exactly did you do: step by step.
Also make sure you plugged your MAF back in.
Deleting the silencer shouldn't hurt unless you plugged up the elbow itself and screwed up the flow of air that is measured by the MAF.
Also check to make sure the "bottom" of the elbow where it connects to the TB is on all the way. You can't tell by looking at it from the top.
You didn't put your MAF in backwards did you? The screen should be on the incomming side.

LOL that is nuts and a bit funny. Us rednecks just go to home depot and pick up a brass fitting and a couple hose clamps.
