Lightbulb Solved my oil pressure problem

Well if anyone can't figure out why there oil pressure is low and it hovers under 20 psi on the gauge at idle and doesnt change when you rev it up or while driving.... It maybe time for you to change your oil...
I had that same problem, we it was getting near time for a oil change i noticed on my gauge on start up that it stayed at 20 psi and when it went to normal idle (normal running temp) it would go down to 18 psi, when i would rev it up it would go back to 20 psi and no more... This scared me cause i thought my motor was gonna go... So I had an extra few dollars and decided to do an oil change to see if it would make a diffrence cause I was starting to hear some ticking from the motor... I got some moble oil and a Fram filter....
tok me 10 mins to do, when I was done with it all I started my car up and when i did that my oil pressure shot right to 42 psi on start up and 21 psi on idle, I gave it a few revs ad the oil gauge moved how it should normally move ... I took it for a ride and while driving the oil pressure was at 35 psi at normal driving and 21 psi at idle at a traffic light and bck to 35 on acceleration.

If you have problems with you oil gauge you might wanna do a oil change cause the oil might of thinned out already and its cheap.

Thanks for ready

Geeeez, what interval do you change your oil at? 20000 miles? Really though, when i change my oil it has shown the same psi at idle, but doesnt give me 20 psi more when i rev. I am no oil expert, but i am guessing your oil brokedown (lost its viscosity or something )

No I went to one of those 10 min oil changes the last time i did my oil. I know i should of done it myself but was in a hurry for a trip.
I dont know what kind of oil they used they had many varities, but i did ask for Mobil 1 5w 30 but i think they used some cheap crap . oh they also put a penzoil filter that i didnt want that thingwas a biotch to get off. Im never doing a 10 min oil change again , Ill do it myself and make sure its done right.
Im just glad my motor isnt ruined, however i did check for metal and there was none in the oil or the filter
