Solid roller guys

I have pretty much decided to do a 355 solid roller. I was wondering what valvetrain parts I would need to do this to a stock LT1? Would I need adj. rocker arms? Machine work to heads? Machine work to bottom end?

I want something that has some low end but pulls hard up top. I even had the idea of running 18* heads with a solid roller. Anyone have comments?

joe,

all you need to change is your entire valvetrain. i don't think you have to do anywork to the bottom end or the heads.

obivously you need a solid roller cam, the proper lifters, i am almost positive that you're going to need hardend pushrods, rr's ( i would go with non-sa and guideplates) good springs. i would get a cloyes dr timing chain and electric wp. that's all i can think of for now!

I've been looking into doing this too, but looks to be too expensive for me though

From what I know you will basically need the whole valvetrain fixed up, like said above. Non self aligning rockers, 7/16 studs, hardened pushrods, guideplates, valvesprings, lifters, cam etc. Also you will need to pull the heads/get new heads to get them machined for the larger valvesprings that you will need for the SR cam. Maybe disable the knock sensor, some say disable, some say don't, I guess its up to you.

I wonder if the '93 (desensitized knock sensor) will need to be deleted?
