Solid roller cam setup

I was wondering if anyone had experience with the Comp Cams 871-16, and/or the 873-16 Solid roller lifters? I know of some people useing the 888-16. Also, and other companies or part numbers for solid roller lifters for the LT1 would be greatly appricieated. Thanks, Paul

I have the 888-16. Have no complaint about them. Love the solid roller.

I'll be running a Crower Sever Duty Cutaway solid lifter with the high pressure pin oiling option. P/N 66290H

They are pricey, but I understand they have great low rpm oiling properties for a solid lifter, and most of my miles will be on the street...

The only way to go for the street is pressure oiled rollers and soft ramp rates or ya WILL bust a roller and cause at minimum an engine tear down and clean and a new cam and roller's.

Yep, I spoke to Crower when ordering and told them my intended use. They said I definitely needed to go with the HiPPO option.

Re: Solid roller cam setup

I think people would be surprised at how aggressive some of the cams floating around are in regard to ramp rate...some rather big springs on some cars I have been seeing....
