So why wont an LS1 fit in a pre 98 Camaro?
I’ve heard many times an LS1 wont swap into an LT1 car. Is it the hood clearance over the LS1 air box assembly? Eventually I plan on dropping in a V8 in my Car and I’d love to keep the LT1 look even if I decided on an LS1 swap. If I got a 3 inch cowl hood and rigged up an LT1 CAI to work with an LS1 what else would keep it from working? What all conflicts?

I dunno the details, but I know it can be done. I know someone with a LS1 in their 93(i think) purple pearl metallic Camaro. If you want to contact him, go to www.scfyb.com. His member name is Diggler. His real name is Jeremy.

the myth about an ls1 not fitting is incorrect it will fit with a stock hood, i beleive you need to rig up an intake of some sort though.

The hood and intake may give you some problems but the main thing is that the LS1's have different k-members. You have alot of work in store for you if you plan on putting a v8 in a v6 fbody, such as suspension rear, tranny.... bunches of stuff

Well, if you are seriously thinking about doing it why not just put a carbeurated engine in it, maybe a 383 or 406 something like that. Just use the body and frame and maybe interior as stock components. The rest would be all out bad ***. We're talkin 650 hp and 850 with a 200 shot. Thats 8 sec 1/4's if you can handle it.
