So if you bleed down a lifter when the car is off...

I'm gonna come home from school for labor day weekend and fix my little valve lash problem. I'd like to know that my lifters aren't bled down when I start. Can I just loosen them up, turn the car over a couple times and let them soak up oil from the lifter valley?

Not necessary, there is a spring inside the lifter that holds the pushrod up.
