Smoke rolled out of CAI ....WTF???

Went to start my car today and it turned over a couple of times and POWW....aloud pop and smoke rolled out of the air intake....Whats up with that ....Any one have any ideas???? It started it up the other night and she started fine.....Not sure what the deal is...Anyone else ever had this happen???? What could it be ????/

Your car backfired through the intake. Do you know of anything that might've happened to it since last time you started it?

I haven't moved it.....I just start it up every now and again....since she doesn't get driven much....Just started it up SAT. and then yesterday and POW......But Nothing has been touched on the car since well sometime last week ...Just to start her up and let her run for a lil bit.....

Thats weird! That usually won't happen from just starting the car if nothing was wrong with it before. Hope someone can help, TTT for you.

a backfire through the intake is usually caused by bad ignition timing

Maybe an intake falve decided to play superman? I wouldn't understand why the ignition would fire that much off...but hey, it's run by a damn cumputer
